The eagle let me approach pretty closely so I was able to get it perching and taking flight fairly easily so I followed it and tried for more pictures as it flew over the ridge and into the Beaver Valley west of Stavely.

The sun disappeared just south of Pine Coulee Reservoir and a few flakes were starting to fall as I crossed the Trout Creek valley. But I was back into the blue mist now and the land blended with the sky again.

We just coming up on the annual spring eagle migration and their numbers are starting to build along the Porcupine Hills. Looking back to the north I could see the soft blue sky while to the south, all I could see was, well, nothing. There was no horizon, roads just narrowed into obscure points, powerline pylons marched away like dissipating giants. But maybe it wasn all just formless haze. Maybe it was snowing down there.
